Subject:Bridge Collapse - a question
Posted by:commentnews.
Time:2:21 am.

(I blogged a picture from NoCommentNews.com)

A friend of mine lives on a ship that is anchored right near the collapsed bridge. I beleive that he was really horrified when the bridge collapsed... :((!!(( Do you know what he said? "It was well-known that the bridge base was not that strong because of the river flow"

Why no action had been done before the tragedy???

Subject:Bridge collapse info
Posted by:miss_creant.
Time:11:19 pm.
I'm sure we're all getting this info on the news but you can never be too sure:

612-871-7676 -- Red Cross' patient information hotline
http://www.recrosstc.org -- taking blood and monetary donations.
http://www.kare11.com/video/player_live.aspx -- KARE's online news feed if you're out of state and wanting local coverage
http://www.metrotransit.org -- Park and ride AM & PM services added into and out of downtown

The rescue operations have turned into recovery, and they're calling off efforts since the river is too full of debris to do anything until 6 or 7 in the morning. For tomorrow it'd help if people would find alternative routes to get to work &etc if you usually would use the 35W bridge (ie, 280S from the east, 94E from the west). If anyone has other useful info related to the incident, share here. Again, I think all the info will get out over the news but there's no harm being extra sure. I hope everyone is alright and your friends and loved ones all accounted for.

Subject: Saving a Black Lab/Rottweiler from the Woodbury Humane Society. ASAP by July 26th, 2007
Posted by:mlif.
Time:10:12 pm.
Mood: sad.
From a friend on MYSPACE:

Please tell all your friends, call your friends, and repost this bulletin. We don't have time before he is put to sleep.

He is under the name of Harley and he is going to be put to sleep if no one adopts him soon. They say he is not placeable for adoption.

Why? He bites when his food is taken away. My little Pekingnese bites when you go near his food. There are ways to work around this and place him in a suitable home instead of putting him to sleep. He is a very nice dog and needs lots of attention and room to run.

Please go to the Humane Society in Woodbury, MN and save him!!!!

651-788-4665 Ask for Jennifer

We can not keep him because, we already have two small dogs.

He is a very good dog and just so you all know. I am not for anyone who is into dog fighting/stage fighting. Last week, I posted bulletins for this dog to be adopted and I tried so hard to find him a good home.

Subject:Minnesota State Band advertising for players
Posted by:jgoode.
Time:12:59 pm.
Mood: hopeful.
X-posted like crazy:

The Minnesota State Band is advertising for players. New babies, graduate school, weddings, and retirement have created openings and opportunities for new members.

We never turn down quality players on any instrument, but specifically we are looking to add to the following sections: flute; Bb clarinet; 2nd alto saxophone; bass trombone; horn; and percussion (with keyboard experience).

For information about the Minnesota State Band and who to contact, go to MinnesotaStateBand.Org, or call the band phone (612/701-6802) and leave contact information for our personnel manager.

If you play but need an instrument, the band does own some instruments to loan out. Also, check on craigslist. It seems quite a few are listed for sale right now, probably because of the school year coming to an end soon.

Subject:Supermarkets?
Posted by:cheekybrit.
Time:7:39 pm.
Hello!

My name's Cassie and I live in Thunder Bay (Canada). I'll be driving down to Duluth next week and was wondering what grocery store chains I might find there? There are a number of products available in the US that I can't get in Canada so would like to find a good (large-ish!) supermarket in--or on the way to--Duluth.

Thanks in advance if any of you are able to help!

This is probably a very far cry but one of my girlfriends said I should ask anyway.

Anyone here looking to build up their portfolio and want to shoot my small wedding Saturday the 17th? We can't pay much *around $50* but you wouldn't be there for a long time either. Just the short ceremony and some family photos and some candid ones after. Unless you wanted to stay later or come earlier which you are more then welcome too.

Kimi

P.S. The ceremony is at our house in Burnsville.

Subject:Minnesota delicacies?
Posted by:littlecurvieme.
Time:7:43 pm.
Mood: curious.
I am going to be going to Chicago at the end of March with a group of women from all across the country. We are each going to bring a few things that are unique to our area, food specific more than likely.

What should I bring? What are we known for?

I could really only think of lutefisk (not bringing that!), hot dish (not that either), Gedney Pickles, wild rice......

What am I missing? Help me find something good. :)
